# Privacy Policy **Bot / Service:** [Mainfram Postbot] (the "Bot") **Operator:** [Francis Higgins Archive] (the "Operator", "we", "us") **Last updated:** [21/06/26] This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bot processes when you use it on Discord, how that information is used, and your choices. By using the Bot, you agree to the practices described here. ## Summary The Bot is a search tool for a media archive. It does **not** maintain a database of users, does **not** sell or share data with advertisers, and keeps no long-term records of your activity. The small amount of information it handles exists only to respond to your commands. ## Information We Process When you interact with the Bot, the following information is processed: - **Command input.** The search terms or request text you provide in a slash command (for example, the words you type after `/clips` or in `/request`). - **Discord identifiers.** Your Discord username and user ID, and the server (guild) and channel in which a command is used. Discord provides these to the Bot automatically as part of any interaction. - **Request messages.** If you use the `/request` command, the text of your request, together with your Discord username and user ID, is delivered to the Operator so the request can be actioned. The Bot does **not** read or store the general content of messages in a channel. It only receives the information Discord includes with a slash-command interaction. ## How We Use Information Information is used solely to: - Search the configured media archive and return matching links in response to your command. - Deliver `/request` submissions to the Operator. - Apply basic anti-abuse measures, such as a short per-user cooldown between commands. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the Bot. ## Storage and Retention - **Search and command data** is processed in memory to handle your request and is **not written to a persistent database** by the Bot. - **`/request` submissions** are delivered to the Operator as a Discord direct message and may be retained by the Operator (in their Discord account) for as long as needed to action or reference the request. - **Operational logs.** The server running the Bot may produce temporary diagnostic logs (for example, error output). These are not used to track users and are not retained as a matter of routine. - The Bot's in-memory data is cleared whenever the Bot restarts. ## Sharing of Information We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Information is only shared as follows: - **With Discord**, as an inherent part of the Bot operating on Discord's platform. Your use of Discord is governed by [Discord's Privacy Policy](https://discord.com/privacy). - **With the Operator**, for `/request` submissions, as described above. - **Where required by law**, if we are legally compelled to disclose information. ## Third-Party Services The Bot interacts with: - **Discord**, which transmits commands and messages. See [Discord's Privacy Policy](https://discord.com/privacy). - **The media archive server** it searches. Clicking a link returned by the Bot connects you to that server, which may be subject to its own terms. ## Children's Privacy The Bot is not directed to children under the age required to use Discord in their jurisdiction (typically 13, or older where local law requires). Do not use the Bot if you do not meet Discord's minimum age requirement. ## Your Choices and Rights - **Stop using the Bot.** You can stop providing information at any time by not using its commands. - **Request deletion.** Because the Bot keeps no user database, there is generally nothing stored to delete. For `/request` messages delivered to the Operator, you may ask the Operator to delete a specific submission using the contact details below. - Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data under applicable law. Contact us to exercise them. ## Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Bot after a change means you accept the updated policy. ## Contact For privacy questions or data requests, contact the Operator: - **Email:** [**francishigginsarchive@proton.me**] - **Discord:** [@tevionfox] ## Related See also our [Terms of Service]([https://mainframe.francishigginsarchive.biz/_Read%20Me!/Bot%20Polices/Terms%20of%20Serice.md]).
